Helen Hart

Helen Hart started her career working with the Toronto Star Newspaper in advertising sales and marketing. She worked with clients designing and developing strategies to increase their business and sales. Within a few years, she was asked to work with the sales teams and develop curriculum and training materials and resources. Ultimately, she also delivered the training.

It was shortly after this that Helen decided to get into education, as she had originally attended the University of Toronto to study education. She began her teaching career working with students in the classroom in a variety of grades. Soon, she was asked by Curriculum and Instructional Services in partnership with the Ministry of Education, to write curriculum. She found her niche and her passion and it was developing resources and learning materials. Eventually, Helen completed her Masters in Education in the area of Leadership and shortly thereafter, she attained her Principal’s qualifications.

Helen went through the process of applying for administration with the York Region District School Board and she was successful. Her thirst for knowledge found her completing her Supervisory papers as she contemplated becoming a Superintendent of Education. Instead, Helen found her love of coaching and mentoring as many of her colleagues reached out for guidance and direction. For over 30 plus years, Helen has always kept education and learning at the center of all she does.
